(9)Hodinky jako takové, byly vynalezeny v 19. století, aby lidem měřily ubíhající čas. Původně byly považovány jako módní doplněk pro bohaté dámy, celkově se však moc neujaly. Největší úspěch si hodinky získaly v průběhu první světové války, kdy se s klasických kapsových cibulí staly hodinky náramkové. Mohly si je dovolit jen vyšší důstojníci a bohatší lidé. Původně byly všechny hodinky mechanické s pružinou, která se natočila a pak poháněla pracovní strojek. Nevýhodou těchto hodinek je, že je nesmíte zapomenout natáhnout. Další alternativou se staly v padesátých letech hodinky na baterie. Musíme však připomenout, že hodinky byly u nás jako šperky v době komunismu značně opomíjeny, teprve až po roce 1989 lze mluvit o určitých změnách...
